Surfing the web 3 - Hyperlinks by Scott Boyd Hyperlinks (also know as "links") are fundamental to the World Wide Web. They allow visitors to a website to navigate from page to page easily.
So what is a link? This is a link (opens in a new window). It is standard practice for links to be a different colour from the body text of a page (usually blue, but they can be any colour the web designer wants them to be) and for them to be underlined.
It is considered bad practice to have links the same colour and format as body text - after all, how do you know where you are supposed to click? 2. If you right click on the link, a menu appears offering you several options:
Knowing the basics of hyperlinks will help you navigate the web more efficiently.
