Why can't I get a job back in IT

Im 33 years old and was made redundant from my last IT role in May 2009. Since then I have been unable to get a job back in IT. I have over 8 years experience in 1/2nd line support. My last few roles I have been responsible for the IT support (1/2nd line) for the whole company.

Im currently working nights at a local supermarket and feel that I may never get back in IT. This has affected my confidence and my outlook on life as I am not happy within myself.

Any advice would be welcomed and would be good to hear from others going through the same.

There is nothing to worry about on your current situation, IT role is a wide opportunities especially for people who got experience on it. I think time may tell on your situation, but just don't stop your selt on the IT updates...

IT sector is stable now, my advise to you is the more you stay at your local super market you will be really wasting your time.

Try , work trial with IT compnay for a month.

Say 1 week once and tell them you are so eager to get back to work..but lack of confidence.

I am sure someone somewhere will get you somewhere U wanna go..
