Default Back Date JSA

Can anyone please help me,

I was laid off in july but have only just recently realised i can claim jsa, does anyone know if i can get the job center to backdate my claim up until the time i was laid off work?

The Jobcenter will allow you to complete a backdated form, , however when it is send to the BDC it would more than likely be disallowed as Ignoranse to the benefits system is not a valid reason. There is strick criteria that they have to allow and this is certanley not one of them
