Looking for the career forums?

I’m afraid they’re gone – at least for the time being.

I’ve just moved the site to a new server and redeveloped the article section (which is now running on this WordPress blog) – I haven’t revived the forums yet and I haven’t decided whether or not I will.

Discussion forums are very difficult to maintain, particularly as the site becomes busier – they are very prone to spam and there are numerous legal issues to avoid (for example disgruntled employees complaining about their former employers or competitors pretending to be employees).

I will think carefully about whether or not to abandon the forums completely, but for the time being the site will just be the blog section.

However I have setup a Twitter account which you can find here.  Over time I would like to use it as a place where jobseekers can ask questions and a wider range of career professionals can offer some advice.  Please follow us and feel free to @JSAdvice if you have any questions or news you would like to be retweeted.

    Not a bad news for those who are the members of the forum and sincerely contributing in knowledge sharing.

    It was a tough decision to not include the forums in the revamped website, but I’m still deliberating. Having some tech issues transfering the old database over (it’s too big) but will try and sort it out over the next few weeks. The only issue is maintaining the forums on an ongoing basis which is a much harder job but I think I’ll try and find some people who would be interested in helping moderate the forums.
